Another wonderful opening!

Posted by:

Every Christmas Story Ever Told!! opened to a sold-out house last night, and got a giant spontaneous standing ovation at the curtain call! The show is a ton of silly, sweet, heartfelt holiday fun, and the whole audience had a good time.

Because it’s only a 2 week run, and a remount from last season, we didn’t invite or expect reviewers, but the very kind Jim Fordyce from Lansing came, and gave us the following “4 out of ...

Opening a Sold Out Show!!

Posted by:

Tonight we open our two-week run of Every Christmas Story Ever Told!!, and almost the whole run is sold out already!

This is a new thing for us here at Williamston Theatre, and we’re thrilled about it! Although, it does create the problem of having to tell a LOT of folks that we don’t have any more tickets… even though that’s a “good problem” to have, we hate turning people away!

We tried to alleviate that a little bit by adding ...

The FINAL final word on GUYS ON ICE! :)

Posted by:

As we prepare for the next couple of events here at Williamston Theatre, and the holidays, things are getting very exciting around here!

Guys On Ice did quite well for us, which is nice. To be honest, from a purely budgetary standpoint, it means we’ll be able to do our next couple of shows. This is good. The “art” part of what we do is why we do it, but the “business” part of it is what allows ...

A final word about GUYS ON ICE, from the third “Guy on the ice”

Posted by:

Bruce Bennett, who charmed audiences as Ernie The Moocher in “Guys On Ice”, wraps up our journaling about the very successful start to our second season. You can see more of Bruce at Williamston Theatre in “Art”, starting in January!

“Guys on Ice ” was the first professional acting work I’ve done in years, aside from a commercial or two. I enjoyed auditioning for the role (I’m a little freaky that way; most actors hate auditions) and was thrilled ...

Another journal entry from another “Guy On The Ice”!

Posted by:

Today we bring you thoughts from B.J. Love, the actor who so skillfully portrayed Lloyd in Guys On Ice!

“Guys On Ice” marked a number of firsts for me: my first full production at Williamston Theatre, the first time I’d worked with Tony Caselli and Joey Albright, the first time I’d met Bruce Bennett, the first time I’d played the harmonica, held an ice fishing pole, and “danced” in rubber boots! I told Tony at the closing party that the whole ...

A journal entry from a Guy on the Ice!

Posted by:

We’ve just closed Guys on Ice after a very successful run. To celebrate, we’ve got some words from one of the actors! Joey Albright, who played Marvin in the show, had this to say:

Well, I just finished my third production of “Guys on Ice”.  I had done it at the Purple Rose, The Gem Theatre and now in the lovely town of Williamston.  One constant for me was that Tony Caselli was the director on all three productions.

I ...

A wonderful Thursday

Our final review, and it’s great!

A quick quote: The Bottom Line: A very gentle, very funny, very silly, very enjoyable evening.
This is the whole review.

And there was even a nice Letter to the Editor of the Lansing State Journal from a couple who saw the show:

If you want to spend an enjoyable evening forgetting about the world’s troubles, catch “Men on Ice” at Williamston Theatre.

Seeing three great actors singing and dancing in snowmobile suits and big rubber ...

More praise for GUYS ON ICE!

Posted by:

Another great review, this time from Bridgette Redman of the Lansing State Journal.

She says several nice things, including:

“Guys on Ice” may well be the most intoxicating musical theater experience you have this season.

and

The premise may seem absurd: Two Wisconsin outdoorsmen in full ice fisherman regalia breaking out into song and dance…it almost inspires a raised eyebrow. That is, until Joseph Albright first opens his mouth. From that moment, he sets the hook and it’s impossible not to swallow the ...

A Great Review for GUYS ON ICE!

Posted by:

Our first review is in, and it’s wonderful! Tom Helma from the Lansing City Pulse had some nice things to say, including;

Most of the show’s 15 songs are absurdly funny, while a few are so vulnerably honest they take your breath away.

and

In an age where imaginative writers pen musicals about practically anything, sometimes to the dismay of audiences, “Guys on Ice” amazingly works, evoking raucous laughter and presenting characters with a surprising tenderness of spirit not often attributed ...
